Christmas in Downtown

We did our annual Christmastime downtown trip again this year.  Our first stop was, of course, The Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner.  I absolutely love their bread and their pesto dressing.  Both are to die for!  Everything else is very good too, but those are my favorites.  Here's the whole family!  We require a *very* long table now days...

After that, we spent some time walking around Trolley Square.  The kids found Santa's sleigh and all piled in it, like they do every year.  We're getting to the point where not all the grandkids can fit in it at the same time...

We stopped in Pottery Barn Kids to let the kiddos play with all the fun toys for awhile.  Viv was in heaven with this vanity, as well as the kitchen they had there.  Hmmm, maybe a few ideas for next year...

Then, we drove over to City Creek Center and walked through the mall on our way to see the lights at Temple Square...

We made it as far as the Macy's candy windows...

And then decided the 9° temperatures were a little (or a lot) too cold for us.  So, we enjoyed the lights on Temple Square from the comfort of the sky bridge at City Creek...

Viv kept calling the Salt Lake Temple "Rella's Cass" (Cinderella's Castle).  As much as I tried to convince her that it was the temple, Vivvie wouldn't budge.  It was "Rella's Cass."  No debating...

After that, we all piled in our cars and headed home.  It was another fun outing, and we loved it.  I love that our family is still doing these traditions that started when I was a little girl...just with a lot more people now.  --Lindsay
