Our Jam-Packed Weekend
The last few days have been packed full of fun for the Storrs' Family! We started out the weekend a day early with a trip to Lagoon for ATK's (Mike's Company) Family Day. We had a blast! The boys were so much fun & so brave...especially little Aiden. If he was tall enough for a ride, he wanted to go on it...even the scary ones...and most the time, he would have his hands high up in the air, just like Connor. It was so cute! I, being seven months pregnant, couldn't go on a whole lot of rides...so I got really good at finding shady benches to sit on and wait. Here's a few highlights of the day...
1) Connor getting stuck at the top of Dinosaur Drop (by himself) for about 10 minutes while an engineer tried to figure out what was wrong with the ride.
2) The catered barbeque that ATK fed us. It was delicious & filled us up for the rest of the day. Plus, we had free refillable drinks all day long!
3) Mike's lucky streak continued! The company did an employee drawing at lunch for all sorts of awesome prizes...plasma tvs, PS2's, video ipods, digital cameras, MP3 players, etc. Well, Mike's name was picked (out of a drawing of over 2500 employees) and he won a GPS navigation system!!! We were sitting next to one of Mike's co-workers who has worked there for 20+ years and never won anything from that drawing in all that time...and then Mike wins on his first shot! I swear...the boy wins EVERYTHING!!!
4) Odysea--This is the new ride at Lagoon this year & it is so much fun (for both adults & kids). It looked like so much fun that I broke the rules, attempted to suck in my baby belly & snuck on the ride. It was awesome! But, don't go if you don't want to get wet!!!
5) Mike's funnel cake. He loves those things & he found a place there that sold them. He HAD to make sure he got one before we left. I have to admit, it was heavenly!
6) Short lines. We rarely waited in line. I don't know if I've ever been there when it was that dead! Rock on!!!
7) Aiden managing to stop the Skyride. Leave it to Aiden! Aiden & I were a seat ahead of Mike & Connor. When we got to the unloading dock, Aiden & I got off and ran to the side. But, Aiden decided it would be a good idea to run back toward the incoming seats to meet Mike & Connor. When he stepped back on the pad, he triggered the emergency stop & the ride came to a screeching halt. Only Aiden...
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the day:
Mike, Connor & Aiden on the Tidalwave. Yes, that's right...I said Aiden's name too. He was barely tall enough to go and LOVED it!
Connor on the rockets.
Connor stuck at the top of Dinosaur Drop by himself. Mike & Aiden had gone on another ride & I couldn't go on this one with Connor because of Cohen's presence inside my body until August, so Connor went by himself. I was so worried when the ride got stuck that he would get scared being up there by himself, but he just smiled and waved the whole time. The best part...once they fixed the ride, they let them go again...so he got to ride twice!
Aiden & Mike on dinosaur drop after Connor got off. Notice Aiden's hands. Silly boy!
Aiden & I on the Skyride...just a few minutes before he managed to stop it!
1) The Zoofari Express & Conservation Carousel. We had never been on the train before & the carousel is brand new (as of about two weeks ago) so we had never been on either. They were both a lot of fun...and the carousel is BEAUTIFUL! I don't know if I've ever seen a prettier one, but maybe that's just because it hasn't had a chance to get all gross & grubby yet...I don't know.
2) One of the elephant's pooped the biggest piece of you-know-what I've ever seen right in front of us! Why is this a highlight, you ask? Uhhh...I have two boys...need I say more!?!
3) Another catered lunch. This time it was a variety Subway sandwiches. And, did you know that Subway now makes a 6-foot-long PB&J sandwich? The kids loved it!!! They had never seen a PB&J that was that long before!
4) Mike won ANOTHER drawing! (See what I mean about him being so lucky?!?) This time, he won $20 in cash. Awesome...that will pay for less than 1/10 of 1% of the cost of his MBA school! ROCK ON!!!
5) The INDOOR animals. It was a HOT day yesterday, so whenever we would see a building with animals inside, I would say, "Hey kids! Let's go look at these animals inside this nice AIR CONDITIONED building!"
Here are some of my favorite pictures...
Connor & I on the Zoofari Express.
Connor popping his head up in the skunk enclosure, trying to get a good look.
Connor & Aiden petting a snake...yuck! (I passed...in case you were wondering)
The elephants...right before one walked right up to us & uh, relieved himself.
Aiden on the top floor of the giraffe house.
Connor on the Conservation Carousel. The animals aren't your traditional carousel animals, they are all endangered species. Connor picked this snake to ride on. Big surprise!
Saturday (Part 2)
After the zoo, we met Mike's dad at FastKart for some go-kart racing. For Father's Day this year (since both our dads are EXTREMELY hard to shop for), we gave them both tickets to different activities that we thought they would like to do with us. We gave my dad tickets to the U2 Laser Light Show at the Planetarium & we gave Mike's dad tickets for he and Mike to go drive go-carts at FastKart. Mike's dad had an overnight during his flying schedule here in Salt Lake, so we met him there late in the afternoon & the the two of them both became little kids again! It was so funny to watch!
So, as you can probably tell, we have had a couple REALLY fun days...and I have the swollen ankles to prove it. (There will NOT be a picture posted of said ankles...again, in honor of pregnant women everywhere!) --Lindsay

My parents live really close to Provo Canyon, so they can see the Squaw Peak Lookout pretty well from their front yard. For whatever reason, the boys love to go sit on Nana & Poppy's front lawn & look for lights up at the lookout, hence the name "Cars on the Mountain". When they see headlights, they jump up & scream, "A car...a car!" and then run around in a circle. OBVIOUSLY, you can see why this is such a fun game! :) The boys stayed outside doing this until 10:30 or so & then went inside to try to go to sleep. They made a bed on the floor in Nana & Poppy's room. And this (the picture below) is what my parents woke up to Saturday morning...
Haha! Too funny! Mike & I (after kicking Issa's butt in our "2 News This Morning B-B-Q Cookoff) got to my parents house around 9:15 that morning to find them all enjoying a pancake breakfast & talking about the fun they had the night before. When everyone was ready, Mike & my dad went for a bike ride up the canyon...

But, quickly woke up as the firetrucks & cannons were moving by & enjoyed the rest of the parade. The boys got lots of candy & had a great time! After the parade, we headed over to the park by my parents' house to watch the fireworks & then headed home. We finally got there about 11:00 pm...not good when you have to get up at 3:00 am! Oh well!
