For those of you who don't know, my dad rides in the Lotoja (Logan to Jackson Hole) bike race every year. It's a grueling 209 mile bike race...all in one day! I know...it's crazy! Anyway, we always like to go along for the ride (but in the car...not on the bike) too & make a long weekend out of it. So, here's our weekend in pictures:
On Friday, we headed up to Logan. First, we did a little swimming...
Of course, Aiden has to show off his modeling skills. Doesn't he make a great towel model?
Then we headed out to dinner. We always have to go to a restaurant that serves pasta, so my dad can carb-up. This year, we went to Blackstone. Dan, Kristin's husband, is a waiter there. He even got the "privilege" of serving us! Anyway, it was delish!
Saturday was the big day. My dad got up at the butt crack of dawn & did this all day long...
Do you see this climb? This is only one of the many mountain climbs they make during the race. This one is by far the worst though. At one point, it is a 7% grade!
And, while Poppy worked his tail off, this is what we did...

Yes, Cohen came along for the ride too. And, he was a complete angel! I love this kid!
Of course, there were several stops (feed zones) along the way. The boys were especially fond of Montpelier, Idaho. It had lots of rocks...
And, they loved giving Poppy a high five every time they saw him...

And, Cohen just sat there & looked cute...

Poppy finished the race for his sixth time about 12 hours after he started...with a smile on his face none the less! Way to go!!!
That night, we headed out to dinner. And, no, I did not adopt a 4th son...this is my nephew, Gavin.
You'd think Poppy, after riding his bike over 200 miles, would be the one to fall asleep while eating...but you'd be wrong! Yes...Aiden was really asleep like this!
The next day (which, by the way, was Aiden's birthday) we hung out in Jackson for awhile. The kids thought the antler arch was pretty cool...and they didn't even poke an eye out while standing by it (quite the accomplishment considering these kids)...
Then, we headed over to Grand Teton National Park to hang out at one of our favorite places...Jenny Lake. The fee to get into the park was $25 per car. We weren't about to pay $50 to get both cars in, so we piled into our car...all 10 of us!!! We felt like the clowns at the circus! Remember when they get out of the car & they just keep coming and coming and coming? The best part was when we pulled up to the rangers' station to pay & half of us ducked down while Mike tried to act "natural".
The boys had a blast throwing rocks & sticks into the lake. There are no pictures of said event as I was in the lodge feeding Cohen with the camera tucked securely in my purse. Whoops! But, we did get a picture of the boys playing on a big rock...and what's more entertaining than that?
After playing at Jenny Lake, we headed back into town for some grub at the good ol' Village Inn. Now, I don't expect 5 star service when I eat at Village Inn...but I do expect to get my food during the same century in which it is ordered. Apparently, the employees at Village Inn didn't feel the same way. It took about an HOUR for us to get our food! And, it wasn't like they were busy or anything. The only other people in the restaurant were two tables of old people...who kept glaring at us & our "heathen children". So, in order to pass the time, (and save the old people from having a stroke) Poppy & Mike took the kids outside. You'd think they would go on a walk or look for treasures like rocks & sticks...but not these children. Instead, they stuffed each other into newspaper kiosks...

After eating our "slow cooked" food, we headed home. It was such a fun weekend! So, there you have it...Lotoja Weekend in pictures! Can't wait for next year! --Lindsay
