Boys Trip to Moab with Poppy

After Nana took the girls on a Girls' Day Out, Poppy decided he wanted to do something fun with the boys, so he decided to take them on a quick overnight trip down to Moab!  Luckily boys!  They left town after school on Friday afternoon, and got to Moab in time for dinner.  They ate at the best Italian restaurant in town--Pasta Jay's.  Yummy...

Cohen's food took forever to come out to the table, so the server brought him a huge piece of chocolate cake to make up for it...

After dinner, they checked into the hotel and got ready to go swimming, which apparently involved a flexing contest...

Then they went swimming for two hours...

And also worked out a little bit in the hotel gym...

The next morning, they got up early and started exploring.  Their first stop was up to the Slickrock Mountain Biking Trail...

Then they explored the Colorado River...

And crossed it on the pedestrian bridge...

Everywhere you turn in Moab, there is something beautiful to see...

Next, they went into Arches National Park...

Inside the park, they stopped at Park Avenue...

Saw the Three Gossips...

And each took a turn helping to balance Balanced Rock...

Then they went to The Windows...

And, of course climbed on top of every boulder they could find...

Then the boys did the hike up to Delicate Arch.  Here they are at Wolfe Ranch at the beginning of the hike...

The hike is long, but it's all worth it when you get to the end and see the most magnificent arch in the entire world...

They even went right underneath it...

The day was almost over, but they couldn't leave without a trip to Dead Horse Point, which is one of the prettiest outlook points ever--even rivaling the view of the Grand Canyon, in my opinion...

The boys did a lot of rock climbing there as well...

After that, they got in the car and drove back home.  The boys loved going on this little overnight trip with Poppy!  Gavin and Ty had never been to Moab, so it was a first for them.  And, my boys just love Moab, so they were excited to be able to go to some of their favorite spots!  Such a fun memory that they'll always have with Poppy!  --Lindsay
