Vivvie Gets Her Ears Pierced

Vivvie has wanted her ears pierced forever!  I told her that when she turned six-years-old, she could get her ears pierced.  So, on her sixth birthday, I offered to take her to get her ears pierced, but she chickened out and said she had decided she didn't want to get her ears pierced.  Fine with me.  But, a few months later, she wanted to get them pierced again, so we did it!  We took a very excited girl down to the mall to get her ears pierced...

She wasn't scared at all...

We told her it would feel like getting one of her shots--except in her ear...

Apparently, we lied.  She said it hurt WAY worse than her shots, and she wanted to make sure everyone knew what big liars we were.  We didn't know if she was going to be brave enough to get the other ear pierced, but a green apple sucker gave her the courage to do it again...

She was very brave...

And voila!  She has pierced ears...

Afterward, we went to get some ice cream to celebrate.  I'm not sure what was in those suckers at the ear piercing place, but everything was funny to these kiddos for the rest of the night.  EVERYTHING...

It was a fun night!  Vivvie once again proved that she can do hard things.  She is loving having pierced ears, and is always excited to show her earrings off to anyone willing to look at them.  --Lindsay
