Aiden's Basketball Season

Aiden just finished another season of Jr. Jazz Basketball.  Most his games were on Saturday afternoons while I was at work, so I didn't get a ton of pictures, but here are a few good ones I was able to get...

A couple of pictures of Aiden and his team...

More shots from the games...

Aiden shooting a free throw...

Nothing but net...

Aiden had a good season and continued to improve.  He had a great coach who made it fun and was very encouraging to all the kids.  Their team had a good season and won almost every game they played.  --Lindsay

Vivvie Turns Six-Years-Old

And, just like that, our little Vivvie girl turned six-years-old last week...

Not sure how we got here already, but somehow, we did.  Vivvie wanted to celebrate with a Barbie birthday party, so we invited all her best gal pals over for an afternoon of girlie fun.  We started by letting the girls do their own makeup...

They all looked like 80s super stars by the time they were done...

Then, we played "Pin the Bow on Barbie's Ponytail"...

Next, we made Barbie wedding dresses out of toilet paper.  The girls picked a partner.  Their partner wrapped the dress on them, and then they switched places with their partner for the second round...

Then we did a pinata.  Unfortunately, Viv knocked it off the pole on the very first swing.  Quality pinata, right?  We were able to rig it back up and let all the girls take a swing at it...

Then at the end, we let Connor basically beat it to death...

And then everyone rushed in to get some candy...

We played a couple other little games too, but I forgot to take pictures of them.  After the games, it was time to open presents.  Vivvie was spoiled by all her friends...

Then we finished the party by singing happy birthday to the birthday girl...

And then ate pizza, cake, and ice cream...

It was an easy, but fun birthday party.

Later that night, Viv opened her presents from our family...

The next day, the party continued when she got to go shopping with Grammie and Grandpa (who flew in to visit for her birthday).  She picked several craft projects as presents.  She got some dishes she could paint, and this fun little pillow that she could personalize with her first initial.  Viv did a lot of this pillow by herself.  She needed a little guidance following the pattern for the V, but once that was done, she did the rest all by herself...

But, the partying didn't end there.  We threw a family birthday party for Viv--and Uncle Greg and Uncle Dan too--the weekend after her birthday.  Yes, she has more makeup on in this picture.  She puts makeup on all the time.  All. The. Time.  And, she always in a dress up as well...

Then Vivvie opened her presents from Nana & Poppy, as well as from all the aunts, uncles, and cousins...

She had told several people that she wanted Barbie Dress Ups, and she ended up getting a couple.  Here she is modeling both of them...

Viv had a great birthday WEEK.  Yes--it was almost a week's worth of celebrating that we did.  I love this little girl to the moon and back.  So glad she was sent to our family.  Can't imagine life without our beautiful, spunky, sassy, sweet, kind six-year-old.  --Lindsay

2nd Growth Hormone Anniversary

Vivvie hit her 2nd anniversary of receiving daily growth hormone injections on January 15.  We continued our tradition of marking her height on that day...

She measured in at 42 1/4 inches!  That is 8 1/2 inches taller than she was when we began this process two years ago...

Here she is pointing to the line we drew on her first day of shots.  She's an entire head taller than she was...

I'm so grateful for modern medicine and that Vivvie will be able to live a totally normal life because of it!  --Lindsay
