Last Day of School

And, just like that, the school year comes to an end!  I have no idea where this year went.  It will definitely go down as the fastest school year to date.  I worry that each one will feel faster and faster.

Vivvie finished her first year in the public education system this year.  Kindergarten was a good year for her.  Her reading improved quite a bit, and she made lots of great friends.  The Kindergarteners did a program on their last day of school.  They sang songs that they had learned throughout the school year.  It was really cute...

After the program, we were able to go back to the classroom for a few class pictures and some fun pictures as well...

Vivvie's teacher, Mrs. Topham, was really cute.  Vivvie loved her so much, and was always excited to go to school each day...

That evening, we went to Connor's graduation from Junior High.  It was pretty lame!  Haha!  Sorry, but it's true...even Connor was like, "Why are we here?"  Connor is excited to be done with Junior High, and to be moving on to High School.  He killed Junior High!  He got a 4.0 all four semesters, even with advanced math and science classes.  He's going to do great in high school!  He is on the Cross Country team, and has a pretty hefty school load too.  How do I have a high schooler?  Does that mean I'm old?

The next day, Aiden and Cohen had their last day of school.  Here's Aiden with his teacher, Miss Schauerhamer.  She was a great teacher, and Aiden had a great year!  His biggest accomplishment of the year was learning to write his name on his papers.  Haha!  Funny, but true!  Aiden is such a smart kid, but at the beginning of the year, he had to re-do a lot of work because he hadn't put his name on his work.  After that experience, he learned really quickly the importance of putting your name on your school papers.  Haha!  He had a great 5th grade year...

Here's Cohen with his teacher, Miss Wilson.  She was a fantastic teacher!  She was always so happy and upbeat, and had the cutest personality ever!  She was always doing fun activities with the kids.  Cohen's reading improved lots over the year, and his math skills improved too.  He had a fantastic 2nd grade year...

Our neighborhood did our annual Popsicle Party to greet the kids as they came home from school on the last day.  It was a little chilly for popsicles, but the kids didn't seem to mind...

All four of the kids had great school years!  Now Connor is onto 9th grade; Aiden is moving into 6th grade; Cohen is going into 3rd; and Vivvie will start all day school with 1st grade.  How do I make time slow down?  --Lindsay

Spring Soccer Season

Both Connor and Cohen played soccer this spring.  As it always somehow turns out, many of their games were at the same time in different locations, so Mike and I had to divide on conquer.  Mike was, once again, Connor's coach--so because of that, he always took Connor, and I always took Cohen.  This means there are waaaaaaaaay more pictures of Cohen than Connor.  That's the way life goes some times.

Cohen got hit in his nether regions one game, and I just happened to get a picture of it.  Haha...

Cohen usually played forward or midfielder, and he was one of the top scorers on his team...

Cohen is smaller than most the kids he played against, but he's faster than most of them and has some pretty fancy footwork...

Cohen's 2nd grade teacher, Miss Wilson, came to one of Cohen's games!  Isn't that the sweetest thing ever?  Talk about going above and beyond...

Cohen played goalie for one game and was pretty darn good at it...

But, he is an excellent forward because of his speed.  Here's a couple shots of one of his goals...

Cohen had a great team and a great season!  He improved a lot, and got a lot more aggressive too...

As mentioned, I don't have as many pictures of Connor's season.  I was able to go to a couple of his games.  He usually played defense or goalie.  Here he is playing goalie...

Connor is a good defender, and enjoys foiling well laid out plans of the forwards on the other team...

Connor had a good season, and improved a lot too.  This may have been his last season of soccer though because he made it on his high school Cross Country Team, which is now dominating much of his life.  Between Cross Country and his extremely difficult school schedule (including early morning seminary), there isn't a whole lot of free time.  I'll have more about that in another post.  --Lindsay
